01|  75% Decrease in fungal colonies
UV-Sani 55 using Aspergillus niger

The plates exposed to Aspergillus niger spores after passage through the unit showed a decrease of 75% in fungal colonies (as compared to the control with the the unit switched off), from >106 counts per plate (average of three plates). Conclusion From these results it can be sen the UV-Sani 55 sanitizing unit, although not completely sterilizing Aspergillus niger spores (a very difficult spore to completely kill) can significantly reduce the numbers in a highly concentrated aerosol not found under normal air conditions.

02 | MTB bacilli
UVGI Fixtures & Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB H37Ra)

The UVGI fixture was 06.25% effective, O2 was 81.56% effective and O3 was 91.93% effective however it is all lower than the six log reduction (99.9%) principle for the design of air disinfection systems. Fixture O4 was 100% effective at reducing the MTB bacilli by six logs in a period of 60 minutes.

MURS device against common healthcare associated pathogens

The efficacy of the MURS device has been shown by the percentage kill of the organisms inoculated onto the glass slides. The MURS device was able to kill all of organisms placed in directed view of the instrument as well as the K pneumoniae and A. baumannii in the shaded areas. The same results however were not obtained for the aHP device which failed to kill 100% of the K pneumoniae and S aureus. Based on the above results it can be concluded the MURS device performed better than the aHP device under the given test conditions. It must be noted that limited number of organism and test surfaces.
